Shetland Pride is a relatively new event which first took place back on 2nd July 2022, and was created and organised by Kerrie Meyer. The event was a huge success and including nationwide coverage from all media including Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch which I helped to organise with Malcolm Younger the late and sadly missed John Waters who's technical expertise saved the day.
With my youngest by my side I also drove the float that year at the head of the parade which was a little nerve wracking, but all went well apart from a few issues with ovo's electric bus.
The festival has returned each year and I'm sure will grow from strength to strength.
Visit Shetland Pride's website to find out more information about the festival and the date of their next parade.
