Walls
I am frequently in Walls or "Waas" as it is known locally every month with my work, but it was only a few years ago that I first explored some of the coastline during a camping holiday. I took my children to stay in a nearby Fishermans lodge, a 20 minute walk from Burrastow House, which is a grand Laird's home built in 1759 and recently seen in the popular Shetland tv series. The guest house can sleep up to nine guests and I have included a link at the bottom of this webpage. Before reaching the quaint fisherman's lodge, the coastal walk rewards you with an impressive site, the island of Vaila including the beautiful Vaila Hall which is considered to be one of the finest mansions in Shetland. At the end of the isle is Mucklaberry Castle tower which also looks rather grand and mysterious.
